Shallow Hal (1-Nov-2001)
Directors: Bobby Farrelly; Peter Farrelly Writers: Bobby Farrelly; Peter Farrelly; Sean Moynihan Keywords: Romantic Comedy, Obesity Hypnotized by a celebrity self-help guru, a vain young man begins seeing unattractive women for their "inner beauty".
ABSTRACT Hal is a vain young man more concerned with superficial appearance than personality or morals, operating on his late father's advice to stick to dating physically attractive women. A chance encounter with noted self-help "guru" Tony Robbins -- or, as our man affectionately calls him, "banana hands" -- leaves Hal hypnotized into seeing unattractive women for their "inner beauty", leading to his embarking on a relationship with the charming yet morbidly obese Rosemary even as equally-shallow pal Mauricio looks to undo Robbins' work.
