Founded 1894 as a member of the Western League (a minor circuit) and became a charter member of the American League in 1901. Won A.L. pennants in 1907, 1908, 1909, 1934, 1935, 1940, 1945, 1968, 1984, 2006, and 2012. World Series champions in 1935, 1945, 1968 and 1984.
