ABSTRACT
Actor Philip Seymour Hoffman attended the Democratic and Republican national conventions with the goal of documenting the run-up to the extremely contentious 2000 Presidential election between Al Gore and George W. Bush. What followed instead, however, saw the acclaimed thespian become disenchanted with modern American politics and moneyed power-brokers to the point of questioning the wealthiest country on the planet's foundations, a populist personal transformation depicted in Last Party 2000, the ultimate end result of his efforts.
