ABSTRACT
Marisa Ventura, hard-working single mother and maid at the swanky Hotel Beresford in New York City, tries on expensive clothing once belonging to socialite and hotel guest Caroline Lane after she is asked to return said articles of clothing. Spotted by Senatorial candidate and man-about-town Christopher Marshall in one of the outfits and mistaken for a glamorous socialite in her own right, Marisa is thrust into the unlikeliest of romances, forming a tabloid-fodder connection with Christopher complicated by her real identity and the realities of his political career.
