A middle-aged man suffering from severe depression attempts to become a real-life superhero to rescue his wife from a relapsed drug addiction.

ABSTRACT
Frank Darbo, a short-order cook who considers his marriage to his beautiful wife to be one of the only worthwhile moments in his otherwise disappointing life, watches helplessly as the love of his life abandons him for a strip club owner who gets her hooked on drugs. Depressed and distraught, he has a vision in which God commands him to become a superhero, taking up an identity as "The Crimson Bolt" and fighting off common criminals and other assorted public nuisances with a view to rescuing his now-estranged wife from her personal demons.
