Defense contractor. Scientific Applications International Corporation. IPO 2006. Relocated their headquarters to Tysons Corner, VA, in 2009. In 2013, spun off a $4B subsidiary, also called SAIC, changed its name to Leidos and relocated to Reston, VA.
Acquired Network Solutions in 1995 for $4.7M. After a series of small, partial IPOs, sold the company to VeriSign in 2000 in a deal valued at $21 billion at the height of the tech bubble (mostly in stock which later deflated).
