Served as an officer in the US Navy during World War II. Court-appointed counsel for Japanese prime minister Hideki Tojo during his war crimes trial. Guider returned to civilian life and purchased a few television stations in New England -- WMOU, WJWG, and WMTW. The callsign of WJWG includes Guider's initials. After he sold the station to Richard McKee, the new owner renamed it WNBC.
