Ray Scott started his rap career with Boston street gang The Almighty R.S.O., who released their first LP in 1996. It was around this time that he allegedly became co-owner of influential hip hop magazine The Source, which may explain his disproportionate amount of press in that periodical. With no gold records on his resumé, the rapper has been signed to, and dropped by, a half dozen record labels. Benzino is most famous for his widely publicized beef with Eminem, when he called the white star a "rap David Duke, a rap Hitler, a culture-stealer," and was pictured in the Source holding Eminem's head.
