Longtime Arizona Secretary of State, elected continuously every two years. Bolin assumed governorship of Arizona upon the appointment of Raul H. Castro to the ambassadorship of Argentina. He died after a short time in office, succeeded by Bruce Babbitt. The seat of Arizona's government, Wesley Bolin Memorial Plaza in Phoenix, is named for him.
