ABSTRACT
TJ, a high school freshman, falls into a deep depression after his mother perishes in a car crash. Left to live with similarly-disaffected father Paul and grandmother Madeleine, TJ's life is soon shaken up by the arrival of Hesher, a foul-mouthed, heavy metal-obsessed squatter who envelops the impressionable young man in his ad-hoc, distorted, and oft-lewd lifestyle.
