FIlm adaptation of the 2001 novel of the same name depicts an unlikely romance between two eighth-grade children.

ABSTRACT
Eighth-grader Juli Baker, a staunch environmentalist and lover of animals, harbors a long-standing infatuation with classmate Bryce Loski despite his utter disdain for practically everything she believes in. Though Bryce has always seen Juli's interests as being a little peculiar and "out there", he begins to come around with maturity, a change of heart that coincides with Juli's existential doubts about her own desires and serves to provide the spark for an unexpected romantic connection.
