Murder, My Sweet (18-Dec-1944)
Director: Edward Dmytryk Writer: John Paxton From novel: Farewell, My Lovely by Raymond Chandler Music by: Roy Webb Producer: Adrian Scott Keywords: Mystery, Film Noir, Philip Marlowe Ex-convict Moose Malloy hires private detective Philip Marlowe to locate his former girlfriend, missing nine years. Making little headway on that, another client of his is murdered while Marlowe acts as his bodyguard. Told in flashback; excellent dialogue. Impossibly complex plot typical of Chandler which is best enjoyed rather than understood in this masterpiece of film noir.
