Melanie Daniels travels to Bodega Bay in Northern California, to give a pair of lovebirds to Mitch Brenner, a bachelor she fancies. Wild birds, with uncanny organization and surprising ferocity, begin to attack and kill humans, at an increasingly alarming pace. More complex than at first blush; thin as it sounds, one of Hitchcock's best and most iconic films. Absence of a soundtrack serves to heighten the suspense and terror. Received an Oscar nomination for Visual Effects.
