A couple attempt to find insight into a cure for a genetic disease affecting their children.

ABSTRACT
John and Aileen Crowley, a middle-aged couple living in Portland, Oregon, are profoundly affected by Pompe disease, a genetic condition affecting both of their children that kills most sufferers prior to their tenth birthday. Desperate to gain valuable insight into a possible cure for their offspring's affliction, the couple embark on a journey that ultimately sees them joining forces with cash-strapped scientist Robert Stonehill, a brilliant man with limited resources who seeks assistance from outside investors to fund his research into a groundbreaking enzyme treatment.
