A newspaper prints a libelous story about a competitor's daughter, so a harebrained scheme is hatched to tarnish her reputation, which would render the libel immaterial and save the paper from a ruinous lawsuit. Snappy dialog and superb performances from four of MGM's top heavyweights make this sophisticated pre-code comedy a treat. Unfortunately neglected today.
