ABSTRACT
Humanity stands on its last legs years following the start of a massive zombie apocalypse, leaving what remains of the unaffected population to seek shelter in a number of walled sanctuaries across the former United States. One such sanctuary, a fiefdom standing where Pittsburgh once sat, is ruled by Paul Kaufman, zombie-fighting expert and sponsor of the "zombie-proof" Dead Reckoning armored vehicle. When a skilled assassin loyal to Kaufman is denied residence in a luxury high-rise building reserved for the fiefdom's elite, he revolts, compromising the sanctuary's integrity in a fiasco compounded by evidence that certain zombies possess an ability to "learn" and adapt to human fighting and survival strategies.
