ABSTRACT
Sequel to The Da Vinci Code (2006). The Pope is dead, leading to the calling of a new conclave to anoint his successor. Before one can convene, however, the four preferitti -- candidates considered to be the most "pope-able" -- are mysteriously kidnapped, placing Harvard symbologist Robert Langdon back on the scene to uncover and defuse an Illuminati-heavy conspiracy to devastate the Vatican and potentially threaten the lives of millions before time runs out.
