A recently divorced mother and her two sons move to the seaside town of Santa Carla, "murder capital of the world." Her elder son Michael falls under the spell of Star, girlfriend of a teenage gang leader, while the younger brother Sam is warned by the Frog brothers of the growing infestation of local vampires; their mother falls in love with her boss, owner of the local video store.
