ABSTRACT
Bleak, cold, and gray as the post-apocalyptic wasteland it depicts, The Road follows an unnamed father and son -- credited as "Man" and "Boy" -- as they trudge alone through an America destroyed by an unspecified civilization-ending catastrophe, searching for supposedly warmer climes down south. Armed with nothing but a pistol and shopping cart filled with scavenged food, the pair contend with misery, hunger, and threats posed by roving hordes of cannibals as they roam the land.
