ABSTRACT
London, England plays host to the whimsical Doctor Parnassus' traveling show in this film, a sideshow called the "Imaginarium" promising its patrons a whimsical, unbelievable show controlled by the thoughts in the eccentric Doctor's mind. The Doctor, who claims to have lived longer than Methuselah, owes his immortality to a deal with the Devil -- calling himself "Mr. Nick" -- in his youth, promised his firstborn at age sixteen as part of the deal; now that Valentina is almost at that fateful age, Parnassus strikes a new deal, sending a cast of otherworldly characters on a race to seduce five souls at the Imaginarium first with young Valentina as the ultimate prize.
