ABSTRACT
Clocking in with an eighty-five minute run time equal to that of a DV tape found in a standard film-based video camera, Cloverfield depicts five New Yorkers' attempts to survive through a devastating Godzilla-esque monster attack on their beloved metropolis, piecing together the mass chaos and related human struggle through "evidence" found on a tape in the process of being erased and recorded over as part of a latter-day government coverup.
