A wealthy socialite's desire to help underprivileged residents of third-world nations draws her into a globetrotting extramarital affair.

Sarah Jordan, an American socialite married to wealthy Brit Henry Beauford, crosses paths with Nick Callahan, an idealistic charity worker quick to criticize the wealthy elite for their apathy towards the plight of unlucky souls in impoverished nations. Driven to assist his cause, Sarah joins him on a mission to fight famine in Ethiopia; her desire to do good sweeps her into a whirlwind affair with Nick that sees the pair heading to Cambodia and a dangerous arms-smuggling operation in Eastern Europe.
