REVIEWS Review by anonymous (posted on 28-Jan-2007) Dying Young was an exceptional film. The cinamatogrophy was beautiful. I felt as though I was there when they went to the beach house and had lovely evenings with great food and candles. Colleen Dewhurst was so real and strong. Campbell, Colleen's son in real life, was someone to aspire to. He really wanted a "normal" life and wasn't afraid of anything, including death, to find it. Julia Roberts was perfect for her part. She brought a "real" perspective to the world of the Gettys. The music, atmosphere, and dialog will take you to another world that could be just outside your own door. I hope you will all enjoy this tear jerker movie as much as I did. It has touched me for many years. I still watch it every now and then to escape my world and live in theirs. If only for a moment to explore the possibilities of "what if" and "love will conquer all".
Review by Huong Tickell (posted on 10-Mar-2005) This was a fine made movie. There were quite number of nice, sweet and touching close up head shots. The sound track was lovely and blend well with each sense. Movie's dialog itself were cute and thoughtful. I love the movie and have been watching it a hundred times. The main characters are beautiful. This is the first of Campbell Scott's film I saw. I am glad to know a new charm and handsome actor.
Review by Shafena Hosein (posted on 9-Aug-2007) My friends tell me that I am not romantic but this movie made me feel that romantic love does exist. I first saw it last Monday (August 06, 2007) on Fox Life and I was completely taken in by everything; the actors especially Campbell Scott, the landscapes, the songs, everything was in total harmony. As a matter of fact this is the first time I have seen Campbell Scott in a movie and he really is a "Prince Charming." Since then I have been tuning in to see if they will show it again.... If not, I will try to get a copy of the movie.
Hope to meet my "Victor" some day....
Review by anonymous (posted on 7-Mar-2006) I am not a review writer, but I just
saw this movie last night and was unable to take my eyes off of it for
a second. Campbell Scott was wonderful and I do believe that every
woman watching him in this film would be hard pressed not to fall in
love. His appearance and mannerisms made him well suited for the role.
He crosses the age barrier of women both young and old in his appeal.
Julia Roberts was well cast in her role and her performance was
wonderful as well. In my opinion it touches the heart in deep places
and is well worth viewing. I might add that it was nice to see mother
and son together in a film. Thank you
