Aerial reconnaissance photographer Lt. Peter Ross finds himself stranded in Malta while en route to Cairo; he is assigned to the island's RAF garrison, and falls in love with a beautiful local girl. During WWII Malta, a British possession strategically situated between Sicily and Tunisia, was constantly besieged as it preyed on Rommel's supply lines.
