Identical twin brothers separated at birth follow different paths in life.

ABSTRACT
Impoverished couple Helen and William Hemsley, new parents of identical twin boys during the darkest days of the Great Depression, give son Ryan up for adoption; he is taken by fire-and-brimstone preacher Reece Wade and wife Louise, while the other, Drexel, grows up to become an Elvis Presley-esque musical phenomenon. Ryan goes against his God-fearing father's wishes for his future to become a singing sensation of his own, enduring an intense moral crisis when his obsession with Drexel's music leads to a discovery about their relation.
