ABSTRACT
Ernesto Guevara de la Serna, twenty-three year old medical student, postpones his final semester of school to join a friend on a 5,000-mile motorcycle trip through "real" South America, far removed from their insulated Buenos Aires surroundings. It is on this journey, one fraught with a number of issues including a continual money shortage, that young Ernesto becomes radicalized through witnessing various exhibits of economic injustice throughout his native continent, ultimately driven to take up arms as a leftist revolutionary called "Che".
