ABSTRACT Alex Cross, a skilled officer and psychologist working for the Detroit Police Department, is in the process of considering whether or not to accept a tantalizing job offer as a profiler for the FBI in Washington, D.C. when he is alerted to the presence of a killer in the area calling himself Picasso.
