In this second sequel to Mad Max (1979), set in post-apocalyptic Australia, Max has been robbed of his belongings; he enters Bartertown, fights in the Thunderdome, and is exiled to the desert. There he meets feral children awaiting the return of their messiah, a "Captain Walker." Fine conclusion to the trilogy, though with its detractors. Reminiscent at times to A Boy and His Dog (1975).
