Sabrina Fairchild, the chauffeur's daughter, crushes on David, son of the wealthy Oliver Larrabee; she is much too young and he is out of her league. But after residence at cooking school in Paris, Sabrina returns as a more sophisticated young woman. Won an Oscar for Best Costume Design; received additional nominations for Best Actress, Best Director, Best Screenplay, Best Cinematography and Best Set Decoration. Entered 2002 into the National Film Registry.
