Film adaptation of the 1995 novel of the same name follows a pregnant young woman's struggles with putting her life back together when her boyfriend abandons her at a Walmart.

ABSTRACT
Novalee Nation, a pregnant seventeen year old woman traveling from Tennessee to Oklahoma with boyfriend Willie Jack, is abandoned and left to fend for herself at a Walmart in Sequoyah, Oklahoma. Alone with nothing to her name but the clothes on her back and $5.55 in her pocket, Novalee squats in the Walmart for six weeks until her daughter is born, moving to rebuild her life with the help of kindhearted quirky Sequoyah locals.
