Three years after the events in Rambo: First Blood (1982), John Rambo is offered release from prison by his former commander, Col. Trautman, if he will participate in a covert mission in Vietnam to investigate and photograph POW camps, which he is informed likely do not exist. But they find such a camp, and Rambo engages it in a firefight causing the mission commander, Murdoch, to abort without him; abandoned and without support, he is captured. First sequel, filmed entirely in Mexico. Received an Oscar nomination for Best Sound Effects Editing.
