EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTION
Historically black college, founded 1887 as the Normal and Industrial Department of Wilberforce. It became a four-year institution in 1941, changed name to Wilberforce State College in 1947, to Central State College in 1951, and finally, Central State University in 1965.
