Created in 1995 by the merger of Upjohn with Pharmacia AB. The company launched the very successful Celebrex in 1999, for treating arthritis and osteoarthritis pain. Re-created as Pharmacia on 3 April 2000 when Monsanto's Searle Pharmaceuticals division merged together.
