Securities trading infrastructure, facilitating the transport of scrip and funds between buyers and sellers. The Depository Trust holds stock on deposit, making all transactions paperless -- enabling it to process several hundred trillions of dollars each year.
Formed 1999 from the combination of the Depository Trust Company (DTC, founded 1972) and the National Securities Clearing Corporation (NSCC, founded 1975). Its other subsidiaries are the Fixed Income Clearing Corporation (FICC), DTCC Deriv/SERV LLC, DTCC Solutions LLC, and EuroCCP LLC.
