Dermot Mulroney Born: 31-Oct-1963 Birthplace: Alexandria, VA
Gender: Male Race or Ethnicity: White Sexual orientation: Straight Occupation: Actor Nationality: United States Executive summary: Young Guns Dermot Mulroney is probably still best known for his breakthrough role in the 1988 pretty boy western Young Guns alongside Emilio Estevez, Kiefer Sutherland, Lou Diamond Phillips, and Charlie Sheen, or for his 1997 turn as Julia Roberts' romantic interest in My Best Friend's Wedding. In 2010 he was named to play the iconic private eye Jim Rockford in a reboot of the James Garner series The Rockford Files.
Early in his career, Mulroney was a star of cheesy issues-oriented made-for-TV movies, doing his part to scare kids away from teen pregnancy (Daddy), narcotics (The Drug Knot), and incest (Sin of Innocence). After Young Guns, he appeared in a long series of low-budget, independent, and generally forgettable films. He was in the first mainstream film about AIDS, Longtime Companion, playing the movie's first character to die of the disease. He also played Joseph Gordon-Levitt's father in the 1994 remake of Angels in the Outfield, and was Jack Nicholson's son-in-law-to-be in About Schmidt.
Mulroney plays cello and mandolin in a punk-folk band, The Low and Sweet Orchestra, where his brother Kieran plays violin and accordion.
