Transformed into a bear as punishment for a small-minded bear killing, a young Inuit hunter works with a precocious cub to return to his old form.

ABSTRACT
Inuit hunter Kenai, a young man possessed by a hatred for bears ever since his older brother's death at the hands of said woodland creature, is transformed into a bear by the Great Spirits as punishment for a bear killing. Informed by the spirit of his deceased brother that he must "travel to the place where the lights touch the Earth" if he wants to regain his old form, Kenai sets out on a journey with talkative wayward cub Koda, avoiding surviving brother Denahi's own quest for revenge as he learns a number of life lessons from a new perspective.
