A suicidal bomber threatens a Transatlantic flight as Lincoln International Airport is in danger of being closed on account of snow. Often approaching soap opera, this Grand Hotel (1932) of the airport is the granddaddy of all disaster movies. Helen Hayes won an Oscar for Best Supporting Actress; received 9 additional nominations including Best Picture, another for Best Supporting Actress, Best Adaptation, Best Cinematography and Best Original Score.
