Radio & TV critic Joan Irwin commented on this series: "Foolishly inaccurate, full of holes, and completely lacking in even a shred of credibility. The acting throughout was on the same level -- ludicrously inept." James Sutorius, who played the primary character, responded to overwhelming negative reactions by critics by pointing out that if the show had depicted a newsroom accurately, it would be too plodding.
