Nine Years' War
BIBLIOGRAPHY
War fought 1688-97 by France against a coalition consisting varyingly of: Austria, Britain, Denmark, Holland, and German states. Mostly taking place in Flanders, much of the war was manoeuvre and battles relatively rare. It ended with the Treaty of Ryswick, adjusting the territories of France, Luxembourg, and the German states. While it is one of the first global wars, literature on the conflict appears sparse due to perceived lack of excitement.
