SPORTS FRANCHISE
American Basketball Association franchise, which played 1967-1969 as the Houston Mavericks and 1969-1974 as the Carolina Cougars before relocating to St. Louis in 1974. Ceased existence after the 1975/76 season, when the franchise was not included among ABA teams merged into the National Basketball Association.
