When Governor Jerry Brown left Califoria for a short time, Curb appointed a number of judges without Brown's permission, violating a long-standing historical trust between the Governor and Lt. Governor, and letting everyone know he was a weasel. He was a candidate for Governor of California in 1982, but was narrowly defeated.
