Grew up in Bowie, Maryland. Member of a band, "Stonehenge", while in high school. A brilliant singer, diagnosis of malignant melanoma in 1993 cut her career suddenly short. Chemotherapy treatment was started much too late to be of any use, and she died on 2 November 1996. Cassidy recorded one live album during her lifetime, Live at Blues Alley (1996), and one studio album, Eva by Heart, which was released posthumously. Several albums have been released since then consisting of other found material.
