Atkins, Encyclopedia of Modern American Extremists and Extremist Groups, Metzger declared personal bankruptcy after losing a $3M lawsuit filed on behalf of the Seraw Family (victims of a Portland, Oregon skinhead beating) by the Southern Poverty Law Center. The judgment was upheld on appeal in 1993.
