Don StarkAKA Donald Stark

Born: 20-Aug-1954
Birthplace: New York City

Gender: Male
Race or Ethnicity: White
Sexual orientation: Straight
Occupation: Actor

Nationality: United States
Executive summary: Bob Pinciotti on That 70's Show

Character actor Don Stark is best known as the dim but endearing next-door neighbor Bob Pinciotti on That '70s Show, a schlumpy swinger who owned an appliance store and was married to Tanya Roberts, father of Laura Prepon, and most improbably the lover of Brooke Shields.

Dared by a friend in high school, Stark joined the drama club and to his own surprise landed the lead in a school production of the hillbilly morality play Dark of the Moon. After that, acting became a hobby for Stark, along with bodybuilding and martial arts. He studied business in college, but finally followed his heart and switched majors, earning his degree in Theater.

In an early role, he was one of the thugs battled by heroic suburbanite Robert Culp in the 1973 movie-of-the-week Outrage. He was briefly a regular on TV soap opera General Hospital in the late 1980s, and he had supporting roles in three prime time series before That '70s Show. In the first, he played Cha-Cha, the scheming pal of reluctant grocer Ray Sharkey on Man in the Family, which lasted about a month in 1991. In his second sitcom, 1995's quickly-cancelled Bless This House, Stark played the bumbling buddy of cranky postal worker Andrew Dice Clay. On Timecop, the TV adaptation of the Jean-Claude Van Damme movie, Stark played the hero's commanding officer. In memorable guest roles, he voiced supervillain The Rhino in the cartoon Spider-Man, he played Stu, Larry's friend who slips into the men's room to avoid paying the check, on Curb Your Enthusiasm, and he was almost unrecognizable as a lunar-faced alien on Star Trek: Deep Space 9, tragically killed in a "business transaction" with Quark.

Stark's first feature film was 1975's exploitation classic Switchblade Sisters about girl gangs in hot pants, starring Lenny Bruce's daughter Kitty. In later film roles, he played an evil elf in the most laughably godawful Christmas movie ever made, Santa with Muscles starring Hulk Hogan and 12-year-old Mila Kunis, and he was a hologram with a metallic nose in Star Trek: First Contact, as part of Captain Picard's computer-enhanced daydream.
