As part of a broadened indictment of the now-defunct charity Islamic American Relief Agency (charged with funnelling money to an Afghan terrorist), Siljander was accused of being hired by the charity to have it removed from a Senate list of groups suspected of aiding terrorism. For this lobbying effort, he allegedly was paid $50,000, money now thought to have been stolen from the US Agency of International Development.
