Pauly Shore AKA Paul Montgomery Shore Born: 1-Feb-1968 Birthplace: Hollywood, CA
Gender: Male Religion: Jewish Race or Ethnicity: White Sexual orientation: Straight Occupation: Comic, Actor Nationality: United States Executive summary: Encino Man Pauly Shore's father was a semi-successful stand-up comedian, and his mother owned LA's Comedy Store, where Shore first appeared on stage. Shore's stoner persona "The Wiezel" made people laugh, and his work as a VJ and host on MTV increased his public visibility. He made his film debut in the movie that ended Molly Ringwald's teen idol career, For Keeps, and had small roles in several other duds before starring with Sean Astin and Brendan Fraser in Encino Man. He then made a series of lowbrow comedies to gradually diminishing returns, and returned to television in Fox's Pauly sitcom in 1997. Seven episodes were filmed, and five were aired before it was cancelled.
Shore played Lenny Bruce in a cheesy 1999 TV movie about Hugh Hefner, and hosted the Stony Awards for High Times magazine. He attempted a comeback in 2003 by writing, directing, financing and starring as himself in Pauly Shore Is Dead, wherein he faked his own death to get some media attention. The movie went straight to video.
