"The Oregon State University (OSU) Foundation in Corvallis, Oregon, was incorporated under the laws of the State of Oregon as a non-profit corporation on October 15, 1947. The Foundation aids and promotes excellence in the educational, research, and service activities of OSU by seeking, receiving and administering private gifts for the benefit of the University. As an IRS 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation, the Foundation provides many donors the opportunity and appropriate tax advantage for supporting projects and programs that are beyond the scope of the University's general budget."
