ORGANIZATION

LUMINOUS VISIONS, INC. is a non-profit tax exempt volunteer organization founded in 1976 by the late actor Raul Julia; actress, producer, writer, & journalist Carla Pinza; Judge Gloria Sosa Litner (then a lawyer); CPA Richard DiGuardi; author Anita Velez; publicist Angie Cabrera and realtor Brian Lea. The organization was known then as The Latino Playwrights with the intention of giving exposure to the talents of writers and performers of Hispanic backgrounds of all ages in the English-speaking entertainment industries. The enormous success of The Latino Playwrights created such a stir that soon after many non-Hispanic actors, writers, and directors came knocking at the door. The organization then became multi-cultural, thus inspiring a name change to LUMINOUS VISIONS, INC. Today, the Latino playwright is a professional writers program under the umbrella of Luminous Visions Inc.
