Original Title: Kakushi-toride no san-akunin

Director: Akira Kurosawa

Writers: Shinobu Hashimoto; Ryuzo Kikushima; Akira Kurosawa; Hideo Oguni

Keywords: Action/Adventure, Japan

Tahei and Matakishi, a pair of bumbling and greedy peasants in 16th century Japan, escape from an internment camp in the chaos of a mass uprising; they find a bar of gold while warming themselves by a fire. Greedy for more, Rokurota comes across them and offers these two utterly unimportant people even more gold in return for escorting a young woman through enemy lines. Epic tale, some plot elements of which were likely of some inspiration to George Lucas in creating Star Wars (1977).
