ABSTRACT
Adapted from The Long Walk, a 1955 book by Polish prisoner of war Sławomir Rawicz, The Way Back follows a group of Siberian gulag escapees -- cynical American Mr. Smith, Yugoslavian accountant Zoran, Polish chef Tomasz Horodynsky, night blindness-afflicted Kaizk, and Latvian priest Voss -- led by rugged Polish national Janusz as they chart a 4,000-mile journey away from their prison and towards their ultimate freedom in India, facing a host of challenges along the way.
